VideoIpodAccessories.com
VideoIpodAccessories.com was an experiment by the owner
of Gaddio Enterprises in affiliate marketing. The site
contains thousands of iPod Video related products
that are completely served up using Amazon's Associate
program's API. In other words, when you search for products
at VideoIpodAccessories.com, the web site sends the query
off to Amazon.com who returns its results. The web site
displays the results in a slick recreation of an iPod screen.
Click on a product, and you can see more details of the
item (again, served up by Amazon behind the scenes). Visitors
to the site are then given a "Buy from Amazon.com" link
that, when clicked, takes the visitor to Amazon.com
where they can purchase the product if he/she so desires.
The great thing about this site is that it requires no database
and hardly any programming to set up. Just plug in your
Amazon Associate ID, and you've got a customized affiliate site.
The trick is to find a good area like books, cell phone accessories, or
whatever.
Of course, driving traffic to such a site is another task, but
assuming this can be done, such a low-maintenance site
could be a affiliate cash cow.
